Burnaby RCMP activated Coquitlam SAR this afternoon to follow up on a missing person who could possibly be in the Coquitlam area.
Richard Lin, 19, was last seen at his home in south Burnaby on September 6th, 2014. Initial evidence led the police to believe that he might be travelling to Squamish.
A possible sighting near Buntzen Lake on September 7th, 2014 between noon and 1 PM resulted in Coquitlam SAR members searching the Halvor Lunden trail from the Polytrichum lookout to El Paso junction today.
Burnaby RCMP are asking the public for assistance in this case.
Members of the public who hiked on Eagle ridge in the days following September 7th 2014 are asked to come forward if they saw a person matching Richard Lin’s description. In particular, any hikers in the following areas
- Halvor Lunden Trail
- Little Valhalla
- Spahat Rigg
- Lindsay Lakes and the other lakes on the plateau
- White Rock, East view, West view and trails on Eagle Ridge
- Mount Beautiful, Swan Falls, and Dilly Dally trails.
Richard Lin is a 19 year old Asian male, 5’9″ tall, with a thin build, short black hair and brown eyes. He wears eye glasses and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, grey hooded sweatshirt, blue, red and white coloured checkered shorts and a black backpack.
