The Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) has released their SAR statistics for the 2010-2011 year. These stats are for British Columbia only and compiled by PEP.
Looking at the graphs below we see a rising trend for the total number of people requiring SAR assistance. (Editor’s note: it is assumed that data includes all SAR tasks, not just ground searches).
